About me and my way of working

My name is Jana Hentschke, I was born and grew up in Cologne and have since lived in various places around the world. My fascination with human cognition, emotions and behavior has led me to study psychology and to travel, my great passion. There, I love learning about the cultures and perspectives of people outside my environment. It is very important to me to think outside the box, to get to know different perspectives and treatment approaches in order to constantly develop my therapeutic style.

Through my previous work at home and abroad, I have gained a good understanding of people and different cultural backgrounds. Through a number of years working in child and youth welfare, I have also done a lot of systemic work in an advisory context, involving the entire system. As a psychotherapist in training, it is important to me to approach other people openly and without judgment and to strengthen their self-esteem.

In addition to my self-employment, I currently work in a practice providing behavioral therapy in individual and group settings. My experience in therapy helps me to see certain topics in psychological counseling and to work together with clients on their goals to increase their well-being. I have specialized in ADHD, anxiety and depression, which also accompanies me here in online counseling.

Very often the topics merge into one another and end in boundaries and self-care - something that I also had to learn first and has accompanied me every day since then in my therapeutic and private life. As a psychologist, I go through life just like you, with the same challenges and difficulties. Through my training I have learned techniques that can take you from surviving to living and improve your quality of life, which I am happy to share with you. It is important to me to always stay close to everyday life, to respond to life situations individually and humor can also be retained in this context.
